The Best Brain Foods That Helps Increase Your Memory!

What are the best brain foods? In this video,
I am going to give you my top ten favorite brain foods. Here we go. Hey, guys, Ron White. Maybe you saw me on
the National Geographic show, Brain Games, or the History Channel show, Stan Lee’s Super
Humans. I’m a two-time USA Memory Champion and, when I was training for the USA Memory
Championships in 2009, I lost 20 pounds. People always would say, “Man, were you training
for a memory tournament or a marathon?” One of the reasons why is I was eating brain foods
and, during that time, I developed My Top 10 Brain Foods and I’m going to give them
to you right now. Okay. The first brain food is to eat whole
grains. Your brain is like any other part of your body. It needs a steady supply of
energy to function properly. The ability to focus and concentrate comes from a steady,
adequate supply of energy in the form of glucose and we can get this from whole grains. So
to get this, opt for brown cereals, wheat bran, or brown pasta. Number two, eat oily fish. Essential fatty
acids cannot be made by the body and they must be obtained through a diet. The most
effective omega 3s occur in fish as EPA or DHA. Good sources of this oily fish are salmon,
trout, mackerel, and herring. However, I am personally allergic to fish and I can’t eat
this fish. You can also get this from flaxseed oil, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin seed oil, walnut
oil, or just do what I do. I take the omega 3 pills. Number three — this one is one of my favorites
— blueberries. Eat more blueberries. They have antioxidants in them that’s going to
be beneficial for your brain. Now, one tip on this. I suggest that you get blueberry
concentrate and mix that with water. That way, you don’t have to eat 1,000 blueberries
a day. Number four, here’s one maybe you haven’t
heard of before — tomatoes. Eat more tomatoes. They protect against free radical damage to
your cells, which actually can lead to things like dementia and Alzheimer’s. So, have some
more tomatoes. Number five, certain B vitamins — B6, B12,
and folic acid are going to be beneficial to your memory. There was actually a study
with elderly patients and they gave one group B6, B12, and folic acid, and the other a placebo.
When this two-year study was complete, they found that the group who had been given B6,
B12, and folic acid had significantly less brain shrinkage. Number six, walnuts. Walnuts are the top nut
for brain health. They have a significantly high concentration of DHA, a type of omega
3 fatty acid. DHA’s been shown to protect the brains in newborns, improve cognitive
performance in adults, and just a quarter cup of walnuts provides nearly 100% of the
recommended daily intake of DHA. Number seven, avocados. I love avocados and
I don’t think they get enough credit for being a good brain food. The avocado is a fatty
fruit and it promotes healthy blood flow. This healthy blood flow is going to keep your
blood pressure lower and that is great for cognitive function. Okay, guys, I got some good news for you on
number eight. Number eight is dark chocolate. Studies show that 1/2 ounce to 1 ounce of
dark chocolate is beneficial to your brain and cognitive function. Dark chocolate has
powerful antioxidant properties, which is helpful to your brain and it’s also a natural
stimulant, which is going to stimulate your brain. Number nine, broccoli — it’s not everybody’s
favorite food, but it is a good brain food. Broccoli is a great source of vitamin K and
that’s going to improve your brain power. The last one, number ten, is one of my favorites
and the reason it is is because I love to eat curry — the food, curry. Curry has a
spice in it known as turmeric and turmeric is fastly becoming one of the most popular
brain foods. Now, here’s a caveat with this. A lot of people are buying a turmeric pill
and taking that, but you’re not going to get the same benefit from it as if it was cooked
in food. When it’s cooked in food, it actually has a chemical reaction there and it’s going
to be more beneficial to your brain and your memory. So, that’s good news. I love to eat
curry. Eat more curry. You’ll get more turmeric and turmeric is going to be helpful to your
memory. So, guys, I hope you enjoyed that list of
my Top Ten Favorite Brain Foods. Your brain is like any other part of your body. You’re
going to need to support it with good nutrition and exercise, and even some healthy brain
foods. I’ve compiled a list and a lot more free information on healthy brain foods. To

  1. but it's dangerous to eat fish in india due to formalin injected in fishes. blue berries is not available in indian market and walnuts is very highly expensive and only the richest people can buy. please suggest another affordable food.

  2. I shall drink six cups of flaxseed oil everyday and I still have so much omega-3 in my diet my brain will look like I could lift cars with the power of my mind. I shall rule the world with an iron fist!!!

  3. I like to consume healthy diet, not only giving good functions in the body but it also makes us smart and intelligent but I don't have a budget for that body requirements. I'm poor and no job, for now foods that can afford by my pocket only I can do. Maybe later, by the way, how about dates, olive oil and grapes or pomegranate? Is there any beneficial for the brains this types of food I mentioned. Please give me your answers and experiences. Great day!

  4. Every food in this was eaten by native Americans…. except for grains….. imagine if they were still living without being mixed with European

  5. I disagree with your suggestion of blueberry concentrate. That is pure sugar without benefits of the fruit fiber.

I also caution about too many tomatoes. People can develop a sensitivity to the acids in tomatoes. I start breaking out if I have tomatoes more than 2x/week.

  6. Take Homoeopathic medicine and regain your lost harmony 'within will and understanding'. As Ingatia 30 two hourly four glob X 5 days, 1m one dose 7 days intervals where disappointments with opposite sexes; Lachesis 200 only dose 15 days intervals 2 times when conflicts within same sexes, Aurum Met 30, 200 only dose 15 days intervals where suicidal thinking is generating and get relief with 100% return

  7. Why do people say in these videos that foods like curry and turmeric are becoming popular? I grew up with these foods and many more. In fact, my grandparent's say their ancestors used them as medicine.

  8. I thought whole grains formed polysaccharides in our intestines? Who wants pieces of poop stuck in their intestine?

I was wondering, what is the effect of Honey in the brain?
I know it is sugar too, but would it have less damage on the synapses? Or sugar is sugar, is all the same?

  11. Ah …no thought and learning. Makes you more intelligent along with actually doing something like work., or study or learning something new

  12. my mother was 82 years old when she passed over. She had a whole her life better memory than any of us her ids and that in to her last days as well. SHE NEVER EAT ANY OF THOSE FOOD YOU TELLING HERE FOR THE MEMORY…. she eat a large variety of the food. and soup every single day …. she eaten all type of the fat but very discreet amount… she never eaten blue berries ever only when she visited Sweden and even though just tasted. I OFTEN THINK OF THIS WHEN I HEAR ALL THIS ADVICE ABOUT THAT YOU JUST GAVE.
