Re-nourish: Designing a Better, Greener Future

Hi, I’m Eric, one of the partners and co-founder of Re-nourish. and I’m Yvette Eric’s partner and
co-founder of renourish we each started back in 2006 with our own individual
sites with the big idea of making graphic designers more aware of their
environmental impacts and giving them resources online to change that Eric and
I met in 2008 and combined our efforts to make renourish bigger and better and
now renourish is a nonprofit organization that helps make graphic
design more environmentally and socially sustainable. Over the past 11 years, we have worked weekends, nights, early mornings, to research, design, and code this site for you. We’ve used our own money. We’ve asked friends and family to volunteer their time and talents, but now we need your help to make the next phase of our site happen. But instead of us telling you what we need in the next phase of our site, let me introduce you to Kate, from England, to give you the details on what we need help with… well, because British accents are just way cooler. In the next phase of their site, Yvette and Eric need technological help beyond their current capabilities. So they’ll need to hire a small team to help out… Their big priority is to upgrade the Re-nourish Project Calculator tool which helps designers size print projects effectively to maximize the press sheet
and reduce trim waste. They have big dreams for this tool to include more customization, adding various materials and units of measurement, user accounts
for project tracking and reporting, improve metrics, and most importantly
including functionality that allows designers and printers to communicate
and collaborate for each print project. They also want to add free sustainable
design teaching resources and a community for educators and to launch
season 2 of Onward radio. Finally, Eric and Yvette want to work on enhancing the
site’s content updating older statistics and continuing their research to bring
you the latest and most up-to-date information examples and
inspiration. After all to ‘renourish’ means to foster,
cherish, and strengthen positive growth. These are our goals and we need your
help to make that happen. Please help us today by donating $10, $25, or whatever you can to help us make the site and our offerings better for you.
The improvements we add will continue to be open-source and free. No advertising
revenue, just available anytime, free and easy to use. Let’s strengthen our
sustainable design community, create more responsibly, and together help to stop global warming by design.
