Meet Our Doc: Seth Septer, DO, Digestive Health Institute

I actually got into this all the
way back when I was a resident in pediatrics and I worked with
a guy named Henry Lynch, who’s kind of a father of this field
of hereditary polyposis. With these conditions being pretty
rare, only centers like ours that see a lot of these patients
can really see enough of them to be able to make many
conclusions. We’ve done this a lot with these patients. We have
some insight into how to talk about these diagnoses and
realize that they’re really scary for families, but also
hope to comfort them that we can take care of these things and
get good outcomes for these kids. What gets me out of bed
every morning is the challenge of a new day, and the
opportunity to be around people I like to work with, and most
importantly, the opportunity to try to help kids in the
community with different problems, and that’s kind of
why we do what we do, I think.
